4 Best Places to Watch the Sunset in Paphos, Cyprus
There are few things I enjoy more than finding a beautiful spot along the Paphos coastline and watching the sun disappear into the mediterranean sea each evening.
As someone who lives in the Paphos area (Peyia, to be exact), I've spent a lot of time exploring the coastline and finding the places I'd genuinely recommend to friends and family visiting Cyprus. These four are some of my go-to sunset spots - and they're also the kind of places I love sharing with the women who join me on my Cyprus retreats.
My retreats are all about finding a balance between exploring, moving our bodies, enjoying great food and experiences, and having plenty of time to relax. And for me, watching a Cyprus sunset is one of those simple experiences that deserves a place in the itinerary.
So, whether you're visiting Paphos for a holiday or you're joining me on a future Adventure With Liv retreat, here are four of my favourite coastal spots for sunset.
1. Agios Georgios, Peyia – Cap St Georges
If you're looking for somewhere that feels a little bit special, Agios Georgios is definitely worth a visit.
Located near Cap St Georges in Peyia, this stretch of coastline has beautiful views across the Mediterranean and is a particularly lovely place to watch the evening light.
I love this spot because it feels peaceful and away from some of the busier parts of Paphos. It's exactly the kind of place I'd want to bring the retreat group for a slower evening - somewhere to sit, chat, take in the view and enjoy the fact that nobody needs to be anywhere else for a while.
The Phos restaurant opened in 2025 and sits just next to the Agios Georgios, it is a perfect place for a special occasion meal and their terrace makes an incredible photo opportunity before or after dinner.
Perfect for: A slower evening, beautiful coastal views and a slightly more secluded feel.

2. Peyia Sea Caves
The Sea Caves are one of those places that look impressive at any time of day, but they really come into their own around sunset.
The rugged coastline, sea caves and cliffs create a dramatic backdrop as the sun starts to drop in the early evening.
It's also a great place to explore before settling down to watch the sunset, which makes it particularly suited to the kind of active-but-relaxed days I love creating for my retreat groups. I personally love starting my walk at the Porto Antico restaurant and walking as far as my legs take me before the sun sets! There are a few stop off points - Yialos Tavern, Oniro (next to the EDRO III Shipwreck), Sea Caves Restaurant and Sentiero by the Sea are all great for a drink or some cheeky food (check out Yialos BBQ on a Sunday lunchtime!).
Perfect for: Dramatic scenery, photographs and a more adventurous sunset experience.

3. Paphos Harbour
For something completely different, head into Paphos itself and watch the sunset around the harbour, which has more of a buzzy atmosphere!
This is a great option if you want your sunset to be part of a full evening out. You can wander along the waterfront, stop for a drink or dinner and watch the sky change as the sun goes down. There are plenty of food options for tourist, however I would recommend getting a bus or taxi up to the Paphos Old Town and check out a restaurant like Agora or Koutourou Ouzeri (you need to book for both of these but they are worth it!).
It's the kind of spot that works perfectly when you want to combine a beautiful sunset with good food and a bit of atmosphere.
Perfect for: A sunset followed by dinner, drinks and a wander around the Paphos harbour and old town!

4. Chloraka Coastal Walk
One of my favourite options for a more relaxed sunset is the coastal walk around the Sandy Beach area in Chloraka.
This stretch of coastline gives you plenty of space to wander, take in the sea views and find a quiet spot to sit as the sun goes down.
It's particularly lovely if you fancy combining your sunset with a walk - something I always like to build into my women’s retreats. There's no pressure to make every moment an organised activity; sometimes a scenic walk, a beautiful view and good company are more than enough.
Perfect for: An evening walk, a slower pace and watching the sunset without needing to make a whole evening of it.

It really depends on what you're looking for.
For dramatic scenery: Peyia Sea Caves
For a peaceful evening: Agios Georgios
For dinner and drinks afterwards: Paphos Harbour & Old Town
For a relaxed coastal walk: Chloraka
There's no bad choice.
One of my favourite things about living in Cyprus is being able to explore places like these whenever I fancy it and that's exactly the feeling I want to recreate on my retreats.
The itinerary is carefully planned, but it isn't about rushing from one activity to another. It's about finding that balance between adventure and wellbeing: exploring somewhere beautiful, moving your body, eating good food, meeting new people and then having time to simply sit down and enjoy where you are.
